Amy Adams is Lois Lane; it could totally be worse!

Age-appropriate Amy Adams will play intrepid girl reporter Lois Lane in Zack Snyder's new Superman reboot.

Adams just got the news today that she's the new Lois Lane.

"There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder admits to the LAtimes. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”

She gets to make out with Henry Cavill, who will play Superman, and Kevin Kostner and Diane Lane will play Superman's adoptive parents, in some truly boring casting.

So, I really think it's much better that Lois Lane, who has a long, respected career as a journalist at The Daily Planet, and who was modelled after the character of "Torchy Blane" in the 1930s serial films about intrepid girl reporter Torchy Blane, as well the actress who played Torchy Blane - Lola Lane- NOT be 23, like she was in the last Superman reboot film, which Kate Bosworth ruined by being 23, anorexic, dumb, and incapable of having a 5-year old-child and a ten year career at The Daily Planet because she was fucking 23.

Adams is 36, and has shown that she can play smart, funny, witty, and interesting characters, unlike Bosworth.

I think to myself, pessimist that I am, "Hey, it could be a LOT worse! It could be Megan Fox, or an Olsen twin!"

Snyder's Superman just keeps looking better in my book.

To say it could be worse is an understatement. Adams is good and (as you say) age appropriate.

I agree - she's a great choice. I'm very glad they made this decision with the best interest of The CHARACTER in mind, and not the best interest of some executive's personal 'would like to fuck' list.

Adams is a great choice. She's a woman, not some little girl playing dress-up.

And what's the bet that Snyder's SUPERMAN will cost about half of what Singer's film did?

I worked with some grips who worked on that movie (which shot in Australia) and they had some horror stories from the production. They say the actual budget for it was far more than the $250 million that Warner Bros claimed it was.

They also told me that Bryan Singer was a total prick who was firing people every day.

You know this is a pretty good choice, I really enjoyed her performance in "The Fighter" and that ass David O'Russell has no respect for his leading ladies and said the character she played and Amy Adams can be a "Sexy Bitch" ugh I swear. I don't know how anyone could work that guy she has a lot of strength to stand that bullshit because if it were me I would be like "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you! don't you talk to me that way you fucking asshole" lol

Heidi, I don't know how you can say that Costner and Lane are 'boring casting'.

For a period of almost a decade Kevin Costner was America personified on screen. Surely the casting of him as Pa Kent, the man who co-raised Clark Kent with the values of 'Truth, Justice and the American way', is nothing short of inspired.

Yeah, Russell has long been accused of being a bully and an ass by all who've worked for him. Even George Clooney, usually seen as one of the nicest guys in the biz, got into a fistfight with him over how he was treating crew members while shooting Three Kings. But Melissa Leo has been extremely complimentary of him. I hate to think that was just because she did so well with his film.
