Debra Granik's 'Winter's Bone' takes a crap on other films in Oscar Noms

Granik's thriller Winter's Bone (read our review) is being honored with four Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress (Jennifer Lawrence), Best Supporting Actor (John Hawkes) and Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay)!

This set-in-the-Ozarks, American thriller about drugs, clan rivalry, poverty-stricken women, and the patriarchal system they deal with is beyond awesome. And now it's kicking ass at the Oscars.

That's all. Who says women don't get the recognition they deserve? Losers who haven't seen Winter's Bone!
