Homophobia is a "cute little buzzword of the liberal agenda" and she's been infected.
Can you believe this bitch? Former Saturday Night Live annoyance Victoria Jackson is appalled at the recent gay romance between two teenagers on the TV show Glee; because the fucking bible says it is a sin.
Quote:
Well, it doesn't matter what I think. What matters is what the Bible says. And I'm really concerned about our country because immorality is, well, let's see: secular humanism rules the airwaves, and it's stealing the innocence away from this whole generation of children. My daughter is a teenager and I can’t find any show that she can watch.
I think she forgot that not all of us are Christian or believe in the bible. She also doesn't seem to believe in freedom, or respect, or equal rights, or fucking reality.
She IS concerned about stopping oral sex, wearing ugly tiaras, her totally repressed teenage daughter, and not even pretending to have ever been funny anymore.
She is dead to us. And she's every bit as annoying as she used to be.
Watch her humiliate herself on national television and remind yourself that these people are the minority; loving, kind Christians and sane people who are not religious are now the majority, and that's why she, and people like her, are speaking out. They feel threatened, and they should. Reality is slowly making its way down her throat and she doesn't like the way it tastes. Fuck her.
Over the weekend I did a news article about a church in my area that is starting a food pantry and clothes closet for the poor. That is an example of good Christianity; not some self-righteous airhead who probably has three times the income of the people who volunteer at that food pantry, but who spends all of her time judging instead of helping.

They spend their Friday nights under a bridge. "Nightstrike is a weekly homeless outreach meant to assist the homeless in Portland with basic needs—a foot bath, a clean shave, a haircut, a warm meal, and other such things."

This all reminds me of a Dennis Miller joke from his own SNL days, when he quipped about televangelists:
"We've just heard from God's lawyers with an official statement. He said, 'I don't know these people and I'd wish they'd stop using my name.' "

Ah, I miss Mr. Miller.

Victoria is one of those turd-in-the-punch-bowl Christians.
A spiritual war in this country? True, but it's global.
Secular Humanism ruling the airwaves? True enough - there are other names for it.
The liberal agenda is of the Antichrist? True, but so is the conservative agenda so it's a wash.
God hates gays? (Turd plops in punch bowl, creating revolting splashback). She discredited her entire message. I think this was staged, and here's why:
For someone who can quote scripture from memory, Victoria should know that Jesus (who she seems to love) said that we should have mercy on the oppressed, and it's obvious to everyone that gay teenagers in high school are often ganged up on and made to feel as though they were worthless. Gay teenagers (or any oppressed minority group) fit the description of people who need to be shown compassion, and if a TV show can make them feel a little more comfortable and give them a little more acceptance in society then I'd think Victoria would view that as a good thing. The program Glee is an evil piece of shit, but that fact has nothing at all to do with a gay kiss.
Note to Victoria - gay people kiss. Kissing is peaceful. Why doesn't she rail against one of those conservative, Patriot Act worshipping programs like 24 or CSI (shows that promote the Neo Conservative agenda of torture and loss of civil liberties, expand the myth of 9/11, and support the trend of unprovoked wars against Middle Eastern Nations which lead to hundreds of thousands of innocent deaths)? Because she's either ignorant or (as I said before) this was staged. Not to sound paranoid, but I mean really - a retarded sounding Bible thumping homophobe is now the spokesperson for spiritual warfare? Give me a break.
Yeah, and that was such a tasteful, subtle kiss (kinda hot, actually; pity they don't play for my team but, hey, more happiness to 'em:), and her overly dramatic wince and scowl were far more offensive than the kiss.
As far as conservative actresses go, I have a lot of respect for Janine Turner--I don't agree with her politically, but she wrote a book about single moms who made history and works with her daughter to encourage kids to read the Constitution. She doesn't get booked on as many shows as Victoria, because Victoria brings the drama; oh, and she sings too. Bonus.
"Homophobic" isn't even a word to begin with..."homo" means "the same" and "phobic" means "afraid of"...in other words, that word would mean "afraid of the same?" What the hell is THAT supposed to mean??? PCers are truly the most ignorant people on the planet.
It's difficult to even begin to imagine the very inkling of the beginning of the tip of the iceberg which lay at the shuttering of the very top plane of existence of fucking utter idiocy that is James Dysart. James - just because a word is not the literal sum of its two parts doesn't mean it's not real. Is "hotdog" a real word? Are hotdogs always made of dogs, and always hot? No? You're a fucking idiot.

What irony to post this after the idol of her adoration goes on a rant of name calling, labeling, etc. Jan Ammons - you're a fucking idiot and a hypocritical dolt.

I hate all of these people. If somehow we could pack Victoria Jackson, Fred Phelps, Ann Coulter and all the other whackadoodoles into one airplane, and then pack Osama bin Laden and any Taliban idiot who follows him into a second airplane, and then we launch them into the air with special rockets that are exactly like normal rockets, except maybe they fire flames in the color of rainbows and spread seeds of colorful flowers through the air to fall on the earth, to forever mark their paths across the sky, and then make said two planes collide in the air with one another in a spectacular celebration of the death of stupidity and ignorance, well, then, god damn if that wouldn't be a wonderful day.
Absolutely shocking and outrageous pubic behaviour. What annoys me is that so many people base their prejudices on a book that is nothing more than an ancient yarn. The bible is a highly selective bull shit piece of Christian propaganda that like all so called

is totally and utterly open to interpretation. If you are a bigot/ homophobe at least have the decency to admit it and don't blame your naivety on an antiquated historically incorrect piece of fiction. Some people just love to shock I guess......
Wow lmao Victoria Jackson you know I didn't really care for her on SNL, but she was one of those shows trying to lose weight and I kind of felt sorry for her. I had no idea of her political views, but on that show she kept going on and on about her father being mean to her and struggle about being overweight. You know I wouldn't put it past her that she blames homosexuality for taking all the good men away from her. She seems like the type to do that and not accept that people are the way they are and you know she was pretty pathetic trying to quote scripture. ""
Go Gail Simone! lol She is one of my favorite comic book writers.

Oh come on. Can we please leave these folks' pubic behaviours out of the equation?
(And can we leave the sexist/misogynistic rhetoric out of the anti-homophobic discussion? Is it just me that finds that ironic and troubling? I'm bracing for a flaming, but I'm really not trying to be a dick -- it honestly upset me).

I'm sorry, but what do you find so offensive? Is that some of us called some of her names? I mean I could understand your point, but a lot of her attitudes does contribute to sexism. In fact her whole "air-head" persona and being hot back in the day was the whole reason people liked her regardless if people really found that funny. Some did. It could be argued she promotes sexism in that regard plus her views. I mean I kind of liked her, like I said I felt sorry for her being overweight and people making fun of her. I was just speculating about her views being the type of woman blaming homosexuality taking away good men as when men blaming lesbianism that they are taking away from men. I don't know if that was true or not. I didn't think it was going to offend, but public behaviors are part of who these people are and its hard to ignore that and be like "Oh we should be nice to them." I could understand when people say "Sarah Palin is the reason why women shouldn't run for office." Yes that's a sexist comment I will admit nor do I condone that. But I'm not afraid to say Sarah Palin is fucking idiot regardless of her sex. But I don't think anyone said anything here that was very sexist, only that people were making fun of Victoria for her behavior or maybe being fat. And some called her names. I don't know if that is being sexist in itself I thought they were just making fun of her like they would anyone else because she was being a jerk. Maybe you did find that sexist, if that's the case than I'm sorry.

It was the gendered name calling. It made me profoundly sad. I'm not going to list the names called, because I don't want to point fingers.
"Is that some of us called some of her names? I mean I could understand your point, but a lot of her attitudes does contribute to sexism." Yes, this. And I agree -- so, it's surely doubly important that we in turn don't contribute to sexism. I think it's important to bear in mind how different forms of discrimination intersect with each other. So, while calling a homophobe a "****" for being a homophobe, it's really all part of the same thing.
If I'm on my own on this, fair enough. I'm not trying to derail the discussion.
No I can see your point, I can, and I often question this myself as a feminist when I get mad at other women and ask if it's justified or not. I don't know I'm still debating, because my stupid ex like to throw this argument "Why I can't call another woman a "bitch" but you can that's not fair!" I don't know I still try not to say it, but sometimes I get so mad it comes out nature of the beast I suppose. But you brought a very important point I think Gore Gore girl.

I think I'll stick with "fucking idiot and hypocritical dolt".
I dislike the term "bitch" for the most part. Mainly because I've known *way* too many women that use the term to compliment themselves in some weird bizarre way. They'll say, "That's right, I'm a bitch!", while acting like assholes. It feels like they think they can appropriate this word as a strange "positive" and then use it to justify acting like a fucking jerk.

I do understand GGG; I'm sorry that I called Victoria an airhead, but I would have called a man with those prejudiced viewpoints the same thing. By the same token, I'm also a blonde with a light-toned voice and, yes, sometimes people do underestimate you because of it.
As far as the word 'b*tch,' I run a woman's sexuality group that once broke out into a heated discussion over the word; I initially said I didn't want the word used on the board, ever for any reason. Some ladies spoke up and said, "We like the word, it's tough and empowering!" Others agreed with me; the few men on the board were also split; some said that it was ungentlemanly to use that word ever, in reference to anyone, while others said, "Call a spade a spade, if women can call us a##holes, we can call them b#tches." (They didn't last too long in the group:)
To address: I meant the phrase "Big Fat Homophobe" as a way to measure the large size of her homophobia. It in no way was meant to refer to her actual physical size, so let me be clear on that.
I meant it the way children call each other, "Big Fat Liars". Like, the size of your Homophobia is so large that it is Fat.
Also, I did call her a bitch. Perhaps that word is sexist- it is so ingrained in me and I should be more aware of the language I use. i of course meant "bitch" to refer to her merciless, compassionless attitude towards homosexuals. I should substitute another word next time.
