I really like the year-long time jump this season. The characters have all moved on and it's really interesting to see where they are now.

The season started rather badly with a poor sequence in the 'Fairie World' that had glowing fruit and goblins or some shit. But, mercifully quickly, we go back to Bon Temp and back into the world of the wonderful characters this show has created.

And I finally have to agree with Kevin Smith and say that I'd totally go gay for Alexander Skarsgard.

Yeah I agree, I think a year forward was a good idea because for the past couple of seasons I think it remain for a year I think? Because I think Arlene was talking about her pregnancy and it had just been recent where Rene got her pregnant. I actually kind of like the Faire World aspect, but I don't know how it compares to the book. Because I just read synopsis of them. I think they weren't goblins, but deformed and demonized faeries? Because the faeries battling that Mab woman the demonstrated the same ability that Sookie has when it comes to powers.

I like this show a lot. And though this new season is entertaining, True Blood feels like it's nearing a shark pond with plans jump.

I regret to say I've had a bit of a change of heart with this season. With each episode I grew more and more disenchanted with the show, and I think I've finally figured out why.

Too many monsters, not enough vampires and too much soap opera love-triangle bullshit. That's my assessment of TRUE BLOOD S4 so far.

I loved the show when it was about vampires struggling to integrate into society. It was simple, fun and interesting. Now we've got shape shifters, werewolves, werepanthers, fairies, witches, demon babies and whatever the hell Lafayette is now. The show has become too full of extraneous shit and the vampires are bit players in their own story. Every person in Bon Temps seems to have some kind of magic power and it's pretty stupid.

The witch stuff is not the least bit intriguing and Sooki falling for Eric utterly diminishes the plucky, stubborn heroine the show started off with.

The show may turn around in the next few episodes and justify all the clusterfuckery, but if it drags on for another three seasons overloaded with nonsense like this then I think I'll be tuning out.

I'm not bothered by the other supernatural creatures because in the book its about that also and so I enjoy it. Although I think they could clearly do some better development with the characters. I like the witch aspect, because I'll be honest I didn't care for last season that much. Because every woman in the episodes seem to be powerless and being taken advantage of by men. I mean I do like Russell Edgington, but I felt last season was rather slow. Plus I hate to say it Alexander Skarsgård his acting as being amnesiac and gentle. To me for some reason I just don't find it believable, and Sookie again I don't know if this is Charlaine Harris or not, but I really can't stand that all of a sudden everything is ok between her and Eric and they get together like nothing happen and they just have sex all the time. I don't think there was enough time for her to get over the treachery Eric did within a couple of days. I thought they could write that better. Plus I agree they can lay off the soap opera bullshit because its getting a bit much.

I thought there would be an awesome moment a few episodes ago when it looked like Pam was going to snap Tara's neck. I would have cheered.

She has done NOTHING this season. She should either go back to her girlfriend or die horribly.

Basically, Sookie has been fucking around while other characters have been getting arcs. I found the story with Sam and his new shifter girlfriend enjoyable, as Dark Sam is just a pain in the ass. I liked how they approached Jessica and Hoyt (What a juxtaposition between her fantasy where she kills a weepy Hoyt in disdain and reality where Hoyt disinvites her from his home and she, the stronger being as left on the porch weeping-it says a lot about how much power her pre-vamp life still has over her). Lafayette and Jesus had a solid storyline... And I liked the baby tale...it had an interesting resolution.

Eh you know a lot of people always complain about Tara, but these past two seasons even though I didn't care for the last season. She has always been in victim mode and so upset how her life is and her damn mother. She actually seems much stronger.
