Troy Ruptash is more than just an often-shirtless, tattooed bad boy. He's also the vampiric villain of the new sequel 30 Days of Night: Dark Days: Agent Norris. He terrorizes his human victims, and his viewers, with a sexy and evil delivery that will hopefully keep us conflicted about turning the lights off at night. Ruptash exudes a casual dark side; he's physically intimidating but charming and funny. In short, he's dangerous. And from Vancouver. And he's our Scary Stud of the Month. Troy tells us what it's like to be a vampire while doing so many sit-ups.

Troy always looks carefully to his right, and then his left, before crossing the street.
Tell us a little about your role in 30 days of Night: Dark Days, in detail! What's your character's driving motivations, and what do you like about the role?
I play Agent Norris. He's an FBI Agent who you come to realize is in a very desperate situation, a situation that has opened up a very dark side within him. A darkness that I, as an actor playing him, chose to believe has always been buried within him but has now been brought to the surface because of the situation he is faced with. As an actor I am always looking for 'high stake' situations and motivating factors that are driving the characters I play, and with Norris I didn't have to look far, his stakes are truly life and death and it gave me the opportunity to explore the idea of what a person would be driven to do, would be capable of doing if his very survival was at stake. And of course when you put this situation in the Vampire world of 30 Days, what Norris ends up doing is pretty extreme. I liked playing Norris because you never see him interact with anyone who he has any feelings for other than contempt or hatred, and all his interactions are strongly driven by what he needs from that person as it relates to his survival. His scenes with Lilith are great because it's the only time you see him in a vulnerable state. I think he is genuinely afraid of Lilith and the power she wields over him. Ultimately she holds the key to his survival.

Troy as Agent Norris in 30 days of Night: Dark Days, torturing his poor human victims
You get to play a dirty Los Angeles cop - which of the following did you do as research for your role?
a) beating up random people
b) harassing innocent teenagers
c) extortion
d) drug racketeering
e) all of the above
Well, I already have a long history of beating up random people and tend to find myself harassing innocent teenagers on a pretty regular basis.... I did however have to do a little research into extortion and drug racketeering... so I conducted a series of interviews with my mom.

What are your turn ons?
Intelligence, wit, and exaggerated femininity with a bit of a fetish feel. Leather bustiers, fishnets... basically a trollop. Being dominated by someone who likes to be aggressive and verbal during uninhibited sex.
Turn offs?
Inhibited sex.

Troy is beginning to wonder why he did this interview
We see from some of your 'foreign' films that you do nudity and sex scenes. How awesome is that?
Yes, I have done some nudity and sex scenes... and it IS pretty awesome. It's kind of cool to meet someone at the craft service table, or wherever, and then find yourself on set a few minutes later lying on top of them wearing nothing but a pouch that has your package stuffed into it and trying to act all casual and make small talk as they check the lighting and set focus marks for camera. Plus some of the sex scenes I've shot have been pretty cool. I did an episode of a show called Bliss with the amazingly beautiful and extremely cool Thea Gill from Queer as Folk. It's a show that is billed as erotica for women... basically it's soft porn. Thea played this sexually frustrated woman who is a photographer. She becomes fascinated with my character who lives across the alley from her and happens to have wild sex... on a regular basis..... in front of his floor to ceiling windows. She begins to photograph me, finds a way to meet me and bring me back to her apartment in order to show me her photographs. She begins to take some pictures of me but before long I've stripped down in front of her, lured her out from behind the lens in order to connect with me in the flesh and bring out the wild sex beast that has been lying dormant in her. The scene ends with her throwing me down on the floor, flipping me over onto my stomach and 'dry humping' me, which brings her to orgasim almost immediately. An orgasim that goes on... and on.... and on. Yeah... it was pretty awesome!

Did you go to prom? If so, what did you wear? If not, what did you wear?
I did go to Prom, with my best friend at the time Marya. I don't exactly know WHY we went. It's not like we were friends with anyone in our school. It was a small high school on the Campus grounds at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. A lot of UBC professor's kids went there and it seemed like everyone had stepped out of a J Crew catalogue. We were the weird punk couple who were never in class because we were always in the courtyard smoking cigarettes. I don't think anyone knew who we were when we got there and thought that we had crashed their prom. Of course we spent most of the evening outside smoking cigarettes. I can't remember exactly what I wore, but it's safe to say that it was probably black and that wewere both accessorized with plenty of metal.

Talk about your episode of Supernatural, "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid". Did you wear plaid in that episode?
I shot the episode of Supernatural in Vancouver, and when I arrived there and turned on my phone after we landed there was a message from some guy who said he was the safety coordinator for the show and he just wanted to check to see if I was claustrophobic. I thought, 'Whaaat? Why the hell does it matter if I'm claustrophobic?' I hadn't read the script yet and had no idea what the hell he was talking about, so I called him back and he said he wanted to know if I was claustrophobic because tonight they were shooting the scene where I dig myself out of my own grave. Huh?? He said 'Oh don't worry, we're going to have a hose with some oxygen hooked up to it down there with you, just in case.' Cut to later that night with me being lowered into a full on grave in a box with a break away lid and crew guys shoveling dirt on top of me, literally burying me alive. They had already 'caked' my suit with mud as well as my face, and this is how I spent 90 percent of the shoot, so for all I know I may have been wearing plaid, but who knows. I played this guy who had been murdered and then came back as a Zombie killer to seek revenge.

Describe your dream role: Go!
One where I get to spend a lot of time in my trailer.

Troy understands his urban fans and can talk their language, so to speak.
What's the best advice you've ever gotten?
From one of my PAST agents: ' I KNOW the character is a flamboyant Puerto Rican guy, but....YOU'RE AN ACTOR!! GO FOR IT!!!'
You can have dinner with either Charles Manson or Pol Pot, but not both. Which do you pick?
Well, I've already had dinner a couple of times with Pol Pot. Actually one time was a nice Sunday brunch, but same difference. I found him rather dull and his conversation a little limited in scope. He kept steering it back to fashion. So, I'll take dinner with Charles please. A nice quiet table for two by the window, preferably one that opens and is large enough to climb through... just in case. Oh, and plastic knives please!

Ruptash. Troy Ruptash.

Please answer the following question in no more than 5 sentences. You MUST use the following words/phrases at least once: "all the goddamn vampires", "sunny California", and "facial hair".
Question: How would you describe living in Los Angeles?
Living in Los Angeles is kinda like facial hair: it can be cool and hip, but there's a certain point when it's just frickin' irritating and you want it gone. The good thing about living here is that because it's located in sunny California. All the goddamn vampires that I tend to attract are less of an issue!!
