Has anyone else seen this little $2.5 million indie time travel flick? I really liked it. At first I thought it was too light on the science but once it got going I realized that it didn't need to be technical because it was more about the characters. Pretty clever plot I thought.

Haven't seen it yet. I'll look it up though. I prefer my sci-fi to be character based, anyway. Sometimes the science stuff just bores me. But what IS there has to make sense. No half-assery.

Is it Spanish? I IMDB'd and found this:

Looks like one of those old time paradox sort of films - might be fun. Laughing out loud

That's the one. Once you recover from Vampires Suck you should give it a shot.

I'm interested in what other people think of it.

wait, I remember this flick. It was released on DVD here last year, with little press. I didn't see it, but I remember it.

This film is compact, creative and well-executed. I saw it well over a year ago and still remember a lot about it (rare for movies these days). For me, it was the film that everybody tried to tell me "Primer" was (but wasn't).

That's a good way to describe it. It's one of those good examples of minimalist filmmaking where the plot is so interesting and original that the low budget is a non-factor.

I saw Timecrimes about a year ago and thought it was interesting, but didn't especially enjoy the story or their handling of the granfather paradox. They did, however, do a good job with their limited budget and the resources they had at their disposal.

One of the best attempts at handling the grandfather paradox I've seen is in Futurama where Fry becomes his own grandfather which in turn becomes a major plot point later on, and in a recent episode ("the Late Phillip J. Fry") where he, Bender and Prof. Farnsworth travel so far into the future they actually travel backwards in time and encounter themselves.
