Super Spy Chick is a super low budget movie that has no script, amateur actors and a simple mad scientist story line, and yet it has a certain charm that kept me watching! ...
Super Spy Chick and her sidekick, Danger Scout, are investigating Dr. Grumbles, head of the PetroPharm Pharmaceutical Company. They believe he is performing illegal genetic experiments on human subjects. Super Spy Chick breaks into his lab and discovers a genetic mutant (special fx with Saran Wrap!) and a certain Nurse Betty who looks exactly like her. Can Super Spy Chick stop Dr. Grumbles before he infects the entire population with his cure-all pills? Can she figure out who Nurse Betty is and why they look exactly alike? Can she figure out her and her Gran Ma Ma's ties to Dr. Grumbles? Find out by watching episode one of Super Spy Chick!
Campy and fun, this is not a movie to be taken seriously. The crazy Dr. Grumbles, along with his mysterious Slug and Nurse Betty are all entertaining, over-the-top characters. Super Spy Chick and Danger Scout are enjoyable as well, though Gran Ma Ma (a sock puppet!) often steals the show. The ad-libbing often goes on a bit too long, but it's all done in fun. Everything is low budget and the movie looks like something you or I would film with friends (check out the cast doing karaoke to Michael Jackson's Thriller after the movie!).
From the horribly bad catfights between Super Spy Chick and Nurse Betty ("Stop! You are only fighting yourself!") to the hilarious impersonation of Dr. Grumbles by Pharmacist MARx, this movie is chock full of delicious schlock! This is definitely in the category of the so-bad-it's-good!
