The River, on ABC in the US - anyone watched the two beginning episodes? I admit, the doll tree entirely creeped me out. Creepy Dolls: almost worse than creepy clowns. Almost.

BTW, Hello! I joined the forum a while ago but then got utterly sidetracked. Seems like a good place for my kind of topics.

^ Welcome!

I had planned to watch the show, but to be honest I didn't even realise it had started. Doll tree sounds cool...I will set my dvr. Happy

I saw that the first two episodes ran back to back. Sadly, I was watching something else opposite the first ep. I was free for the second ep, but didn't want to watch it without seeing ep one first. Argh.

Both episodes are available on Hulu through the beginning of March.

Haven't watched them yet, but will be soon.

And welcome, anothermasque!

I thought it was pretty lame.

The documentary style is completely pointless. If the show was improvised and had a more natural feeling it would come across a lot better. As it is you've got bad, cliche dialogue and uninteresting, humourless stock characters.

It may get better but it's not off to a very good start.

I have them all DVR'd and have been planning on watching (same with Alcatraz). I like my Tv without commercials, so I always record and watch later.

I admit I have my reservations about the POV camera style. The plot reminds me of Dragonfly with Kevin Costner. BUT I am totally willing to give it a chance; I like the doll tree, I saw a few images of that.

Honestly, the fact that the two hour premier was just two regular episodes made it feel less like an event. And while there was creepy stuff... The actual stories felt disjointed from the overall story.

Rivers are scary enough since that show River Monsters came out, why make a show about the river itself?

The documentary style is always risky - it can be really bad. This one is working for me, for whatever reason - not genius, but I'm OK with it. The most annoying thing about this show so far is the girl with her doom 'n' gloom 'n' everything-is-an-omen attitude - it's a little over the top. Even sensitives should be off the clock now and then.

Not an award-winner, maybe, but I'm still having fun with it!
