Sally Menke, the editor of all of Quentin Tarantino's films, died yesterday. She was 56.
Menke was certainly appreciated by Tarantino and cast, as can be seen in the embedded video below, in which Tarantino talks about working with his editor. A blooper-like sequence follows and is very entertaining; and must have been especially entertaining to the late Menke.
Menke died during a hiking trip with her dog in the Griffith Park area of Los Angeles, California. After failing to return home, alarmed friends alerted the police; her body was later found in a ravine near the park. Her dog was found alive, sitting with her.
A cause of death has not been announced, though it has been presumed that the day's record heat of 113 degrees may have come into play.
