Paramount Snaps Up 'Last Man Standing'

Paramount has picked up the theatrical rights to the science fiction graphic novel Last Man Standing, created by Dan LuVisi.

The novel is the first of a series, written mainly as a prologue, and introduces the bounty hunter Gabriel, who walks the reader through the intricacies of his time transcending futuristic realm and the colorful and sometimes deadly characters that dwell there.

Despite being a new graphic novel, and simply a prologue to the impending series main body, Last Man Standing has become something of an instant sensation after it was reported that it's opening sales at the San Diego Comic Con sold out within hours. The novel is currently out of print, but is soon to be reissued by Heavy Metal publishing. More information regarding obtaining a copy can be found by visiting Heavy Metal.

The project is extremely new, so few names are attached beyond the producers. Scott Aversano and novel creator Daniel LuVisi will produce, and Stefan Lokotch, Russell Binder, and Peter Levin are attached as executive producers.
