New Trailer for 'My Soul to Take'

Have you been wondering what Wes Craven has been up to? Then check out the trailer below to get a glimpse of his new film My Soul to Take.

The film takes place in the sleepy little town of Riverton, where 16 years ago a very non-sleepy serial killer terrorized the population. On the night of his death, seven children were born within the town's borders, and local legend has it that one day the killer will return and take the lives of the lot of them. As the kids turn 16, local townsfolk start dying, and the teens are taken with the idea that one of them may have inherited the dead murderer's reincarnated soul as their own.

My take? I feel a slowly growing pain inside. Something tells me this is going to be a "miss". The trailer has a strong teentastic PG-13 vibe vaguely reminiscent of such garbage as the 2008 April Fool's Day remake. I could, of course, be completely wrong; and in regards to the rating I know I am. It smells PG-13, but My Soul to Take is in fact to be released with an R rating when it hits theaters on October 8th.

One thing I do know for certain? The music is douchtastic. I just can't stand that KROQ out-of-a-can soulless bullshit. Blecht! I guess I should be open to being wrong - check out the trailer and let me know if I'm being too pessimistic with a comment below!
