Quote:

Meet Michael Podniestrzanski.

The Florida man, 23, was arrested last night after an argument over the new HBO fantasy show “Game of Thrones” turned violent.

As will happen during shows “based on medieval times,” Podniestrzanski and his cousin “got into a verbal altercation” over which of the cable program’s characters was going to win, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

“Game of Thrones,” which premiered last Sunday night, is based on the first book in a series of “epic fantasy” novels written by George R.R. Martin.

With the argument between Podniestrzanski and Joshua Ross escalating, Podniestrzanski allegedly “took a swing at” his kin. After scuffling for a bit, Podniestrzanski’s cousin “ended up getting thrown in to the front window during the altercation.”

Podniestrzanski was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and transported to the county jail, where he is currently being held.

hahahahha. I mean, it IS a great show. But come the fuck on.

Well, I hope you're happy, Tristan. Obviously, your swaying support and championship of this show has led to blows. I always knew your writing would eventually lead to blows...

Why is this news? I've known brothers who fly into fisticuffs with each other over what channel to watch on TV.

Not my family, mind you.

I hate to say it, but because it was in Florida, it could've been worse. Someone always ends up butchered in a Dumpster there. Confused

I bet they were arguing whether Dany was 12 or 14 when she was married to the Khal in the book. That can be a FURIOUS affair.

Usually when people say they live in one of the nicer parts, they're talking about a neighborhood in a city. But one of the nicer parts of an entire state!?! Florida is a lot worse than I ever expected!

Oh it's actually a pretty nice place, definitely beautiful and a lot of interesting things to see and do; it just has a reputation for strange goings on--still there's also a lot of positive, and as a features reporter I do find a lot of good people, organizations and events to write about all the time.
