Here it is, the trailer for Magic Mike, Steven Soderbergh's sure-to-be-arty dramedy about a sensitive guy who...aw, screw it...it's the Channing Tatum stripper movie!
But let us not reduce it to that simplistic, one-dimensional description. It's also the Matthew McConaughey stripper movie and the Matt Bomer stripper movie and the Joe Manganiello stripper movie and the Alex Pettyfer stripper movie. Oh yeah, and Cody Horn and Olivia Munn appear, but they're women and they don't strip, so yawn.
Magic Mike finds Tatum's eponymous male stripper growing tired of the money and the women and the stripping. He's in search of a quieter life and a fulfilling career as a furniture designer. And perhaps there's a chance for a relationship with the sister (Horn) of his protégé (Pettyfer)? That is, if he can leave behind the money and the women and the stripping.
But why am I still writing when you could be watching the trailer for the Channing Tatum stripper movie and the Matthew McConaughey stripper movie and the Matt Bomer stripper movie and the Joe Manganiello stripper movie and the Alex Pettyfer stripper movie...
It looks really good except for the parts with Olivia Munn.
Honestly: why in one film do I find Channing Tatum totally hot, and in another film I have no attraction to him at all?
"Another great thing about being 70,000 light years away from the nearest Starfleet vessel is that once we finally get back to Earth, we can makeup bullshit stories. Off the top of my head: 'We met Amelia Earhart,' 'We singlehandedly eliminated most of the Borg fleet' or 'Paris and I turned into giant pink lizards and mated.'"
Well, we all know how Soderbergh likes to work with non-actors. And you can't really find anyone who can act less than C-Tates.
Although I hear he was rather funny in 21 JUMP STREET.
You know I have heard that too, although ugh it still annoys me how they just totally changed the premise of the show/movie. You know I guess this is mildly interesting only because I kind of like Steven Soderbergh. But I totally cannot r stand Channing Tatum I don't know I mean he is an ok looking guy, but he doesn't' really get me going. There I said it. Plus I can't stand his acting from what I have seen. I guess he is a decent dancer. Bah Olive Munn is in this? Blugh. You know Matthew might be kind of a silly laid back country boy. But he still pretty good looking. I always hear nice things from fans who have met him. And I hope to see him again in a movie that uses his talents well I still want to see "Bernie."

I never really understood his appeal, beyond being a beefy, jug-eared, wigger doofus. But I guess he's payed his dues and now he gets to stretch his acting muscles a bit.
I'm not likely to ever see this movie but I can guarantee Matthew Mac will be, by far, the most entertaining part.
Although Soderbergh needs a slapping for encouraging people to continue to hire Olivia Munn.
