Three New Clips from 'Let Me In'

Three new clips from the upcoming Let Me In have made their way online, and we have them all embedded below for you to check out.

Two of the three clips look to be very loyal to the original film Let the Right One In, at least in dialogue and general concept. I'm glad to see it's not looking too bad; though I'm not entirely sold, either. Something about the two scenes with Abby and Owen seem a little too "on the nose". Perhaps I'm just being a picky bastard - the original is a veritable masterpiece in my opinion, and I'm having a hard time seeing the US remake live up to its source.

Let Me In will be hitting theaters across the nation on October 1st. We'll have a review for you to read up on September 14th.

For now, check out these clips, and let us know what you think with a comment below!

As much as I love the original film (it's number five on my top thirteen list), I'm really looking forward to this new production from Hammer. What I most admire is the way the cinematography captures the particular fairy tale feeling of certain scenes of the novel, and in a way that's more "Starry Night" than Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen. I get the feeling this version will build more on the momentum of the narrative, so any single clip isn't a full indication of what's afoot, beyond showing differences of interpretation of the source material. Anyway, the classic Hammer Horror film put more emphasis on visuals than on narrative, creating gorgeous Gothic settings both dreamlike and lurid. Of course, the unconventional stories always left some food for thought, especially if someone like Terrence Fisher was writing and directing, but they've always privileged style over substance. So yeah, I'm really excited to see the return of Hammer, I even placed an order for a stylish Curse of Frankenstein messenger bag to herald the occasion.
