Kathryn Bigelow's newest war/action/thriller, based on the real-life navy Seal team that killed Osama bin Laden, is slated to be released on October 12, 2012 in the United States!
Bigelow is partnering once again with Mark Boal (he wrote The Hurt Locker) on this story about Navy SEAL Team 6 and its methodical hunt to kill Al-Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden.
We reported before that at the time that bin Laden was killed, Bigelow already had a project in development about a fictional Navy Seal team's attempt to kill him called Killing Bin Laden, but after the real-life death of bin Laden, Boal made a few... changes to the script, and now it's about the actual plot and assasination of the United States' worst enemy. Sony was smart enough to snatch up the Oscar-winning-director's newest war movie, and the rest will be (film) history.
No news on cast, plot, or anything, really, but a release date. Only in this fucking town do you get a release date before you shoot your fucking movie.
