Actress/writer/director Juliet Landau's funny, cutting-edge short documentary Take Flight is finally on DVD!
Landau's doc follows actor Gary Oldman as he shoots a music video entirely on his Nokia telephone. He asked Juliet to direct a behind the scenes "making-of" and her take on the ensuing madness bloomed into a documentary that is awesome.
“It’s like being inside his brain...seeing through his eyes,” says Landau, who reveals Oldman in a fascinating light: playful, funny, joyous, fluid, capturing his childlike exploration and an uncharted perspective on the artist.
Previously, the film was only available for streaming directly on the films’ website julietlandaustakeflight.com , but now you can get it on DVD on the site as well.
There's also a special DVD release party event at which (Sunday, December 12) Landau will be signing two disc special edition DVDs of Take Flight at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles, California (7522 Sunset Boulevard). The set includes the documentary disc and a special feature disc with guest star promo interviews from industry friends and peers. Go get it in person if you can! Juliet is a visionary and a great new directing talent.
