I'm surprised there's no articles on this already, since it seems right up this site's alley.

Imagine KILL BILL set in a single apartment. That's basically the premise for EVERLY, the next film from Joe Lynch.

I've been waiting for word of this for a while, and Lynch recently dropped some info to Fangoria about it.

I'm a big follower of The Black List every year and I read this script based just on the logline. I didn't know Lynch had anything to do with it until I saw his name on the title page. But it is a bad-ass script and should be a hoot to watch if Lynch can pull off all the craziness.

The premise is genius in its simplicity but it will be a very complicated film to pull off. The most important element, obviously, will be who Lynch casts as Everly. It's a dream role for an actress and she will have to inject the same sort of pathos and toughness into it that Uma Thurman did so spectacularly in Tarantino's epic.

Hopefully as KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM nears release Lynch will drop more info. I love the idea of a contained but incredibly intense action film like this.

How did I miss this post?

I'd be really interested to see how this plays out!

Kate Hudson.

Okay...

It's no secret I'm not a fan of her film choices to date. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that they've mostly been abysmal. But if she can commit to the intensity of the piece and not try and 'cuten' it up then she may redeem herself from a decade of lazy, generic romcom pap.

At the very least her involvement will hopefully give Lynch a healthy budget to realise some of the crazier set-piece moments in the script.

I hate her for personal reasons, though. Something about her dad ruining my life in 6th grade. I'm not kidding.

Whoa, you had a run-in with one of the Hudson Brothers? I used to watch their Saturday morning "rock 'n roll" comedy show. Yes, this was kids' entertainment in the psychedelic '70s. (Trivia: Cast member Murray Langston became "famous" as the Unknown Comic on the Gong Show a few years later.)
