Diablo Cody recently revealed that the The Evil Dead remake she's been hired to rewrite definitely has a female lead character instead of "Ash." And no, her name is not "Ashley."
Diablo Cody appeared on MTV to talk about her comedy Young Adult, and mentioned a few key things about the new Evil Dead script, including that the lead character is a "she." Check it out:
The lead character, a drug addict, "becomes insane and difficult to control [without drugs], which makes it impossible to see that she's actually possessed".
AND we heard from an industry insider that the most recent version of the script credits only the two original writers, with the name Diablo Cody nowhere to be found. Maybe the "new"-er version of the script will credit her?
