And it's a comedy!
Lamb of God is the name of the script that Diablo Cody will be directing. She wrote the story, about a deeply religious woman who loses her faith after a serious plane crash, and goes to Vegas to (presumably) become a stripper. because, you know, Diablo Cody was once a stripper. It's, like, her "thing" and it was really cool in 2007.
A company called Mandate Pictures will be shelling out all the money for this movie, and Cody is also going to executive produce.
Kahane says, "It's an honor to be part of Diablo's transition to director."
Mandate also, like, paid to make Juno, Cody's award-winning story about funny unwanted pregnancy.
I'm not sure how I feel - on the one hand, I want to hate Cody and everything about her. I hated Juno, I thought it was shallow and vapid, and I thought Jennifer's Body was one of the worst horror films I'd seen in a long time, predominantly due to the intensely affected dialogue and really poorly-created characters. That was directed by Karyn Kusama.
Am I experiencing female-hollywood-backlash-hate? Do I hate the idea of Cody directing because she's a woman? Or is she genuinely a second-rate storyteller? God, I hate to think it isn't sour grapes. If it is, Brook, I apologize. You can shoot me. God, I hate Juno.
I really hope there's a precocious teen in it! We need more flicks with precocious teens.
Like a G6... whatever the hell that is.
