Now this is just so cheeky and cute I had to share it with the world. Artist Tia Magic's storefront assures that 'All animals are DEAD because it's inhumane to strap a wriggling, wiggling pet to your back!' and if that isn't a ringing endorsement I don't know what is. When I was a kid it was cool to have the 'Disney' branded book bags or something similar but they only lasted you about a yeah before they were caked in mud and stained with fruit punch from that day you forgot to close the lid on your canteen. They were wrecked and long forgotten by the next grade or two when you were usually gifted with something equally bright and obnoxious. I really wish I knew about Dead Backpacks (tiamagic.etsy.com) when I was still in grade school. I would have finally been cool...
I can't remember what most of my book bags looked like but I know I'm tempted to pick up one of these now. Maybe a bit to pricey to buy for your average 10 year old, these one of a kind book bags are sure to get some attention while you're hanging out in the library or waiting for the shuttle. They're mildly cartoonish without looking cheap and obnoxious, a little bit of dark humour mixed in with some clever handi-crafted art.
Now while I can't make any vegan promises about the product itself I can assure you that the artist isn't really cutting up Kermit to make their fabulous knapsacks so you can rest easy in knowing that no animals were harmed directly in the production of your unique bag. Liquid resistant vinyl fabric means added durability than your average cloth sack so it's much easier to wipe clean.
A cat would be awesome! little tail hanging off the bottom!
