Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it does.
If you've been around here for any length of time, you know how excited we are about Captain America: The First Avenger. Directed by Joe Johnston and starring Chris Evans, this flick is Cap's origin story. And believe it or not, they are actually getting it right.
Every aspect is spot on. All the photos that have been released look amazing — the period details, the costumes, the Red Skull — everything is perfect. And the Superbowl trailer was as good as it gets. Or so we thought, because now there's a new, improved trailer.
This latest clip details the transformation Steve Rogers undergoes to become Captain America. I have to say, the effects team did an incredible job making Chris Evans into a scrawny, 90-pound weakling. If they can do that, I have faith they can do anything. This trailer also features Tommy Lee Jones being, well, Tommy Lee Jones. He's pretty much his own special effect.
So, enjoy the awesomeness embedded below. It will most likely have to tide us over until Captain America: The First Avenger invades theaters on July 22. Because I'm sure it can't possibly get any better than this.
You are dead right......and I am sure this film will make the comic geeks real happy in that it sticks pretty much to the original origin.....if that makes sense. Capy's genesis is one of the best in my mind as it is something I am sure we can all relate to. The tale of an also-ran, who has his heart in the right place, is given a chance in life to shine. Although Stevie is a superhero of sorts (super soldier serum) he is one of the more down to earth and realistic Marvel characters. I cannot wait for this film.
Skinny Chris Evans is deeply unsettling. They must have done some of that SOCIAL NETWORK head replacement stuff.
I've been a fan of Chris Evans since NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE (a fairly under-rated comedy) and I think he's got genuine comedic chops. In fact, he's fucking hilarious in SCOTT PILGRIM.

That they did.

Yes, I agree on both counts. Other than a few mistakes, NATM is the only film of the modern parody genre that I think is worth watching. For one thing, they actually stuck to their genre.
The trailer in front of Sucker Punch was impressive to see. It looks great! The latest Empire has a cover story on this movie. I'm gonna start reading it later.
