Elven-y, smart, and talented Brea Grant walked into geek’s lives everywhere as the sexy speedster Daphne on season 3 of the sci-fi TV series Heroes who violently died and broke everyone’s hearts. However, her own take on herself may be very different: "When I’m onscreen all I can think about are how big my nostrils are."
You can catch her in Halloween II right now as Mya, best friend to Scout Taylor-Compton's Lori Strode, and she’s been in the horror flicks Trance, Battle Planet, and Midnight Movie. She’s also (and this is awesome) a Pretty/Scary reader. Brea talks shop with us and lets us in on her genre film career...
"I played Daphne," she explains about her role on the sci-fi superheroes show Heroes. "I started the season as a bad guy... I have a love story, there’s fighting, I got shot. And then my love interest comes to save me and it’s too late. I was on 17 episodes last year."

Brea as 'Daphne' on season 3 of 'Heroes'
Heroes is notorious for bringing back their dead characters, especially the popular ones. Will Daphne be back?
"Everyone comes back," she smiles, "but I think they’re done with that. It was a really fun show to work on and kick started my career for sure."
Starring as 'Mya' in Halloween II, Brea does an awesome job and brings some much-needed personality and believability to the female characters in Rob Zombie's franchise.
“To get the opportunity, that was amazing. It’s Halloween – that scared the crap out of me as a kid! It was really exciting it was such a good op for me. I died on Heroes and literally two weeks later I’m cast on Halloween. It’s kind of an exciting job. How many ways can I get killed this year?”

Brea as 'Mya', desperately trying to avoid death at the hands of Michael Myers in 'Halloween II'
"Mya is Lori Strode's new best friend," explains Grant about her role in the film (remember, her last best friend got killed. naked.) "After her incident with Michael Myers, Lori went downhill emotionally and psychologically and essentially left behind a lot of her past life.
Rob and I talked a lot about Mya because in a lot of ways," she continues, "she reminds me of myself - we're both small town punk kids. I felt like Mya is the girl who screwed up a lot, but now is trying to get her life together and is trying to help Laurie do the same."
Trance is an upcoming horror film written by uber hunk John Fallon, and we’re eagerly awaiting Grant’s amazing performance.
"I actually filmed Trance two years ago, but it's still in post-production. I'm not completely sure what's happening with that movie, but it was super fun to shoot. It's about a bunch of kids who go to a party and take a drug that make the women kill the men. I got to run around on skates the whole movie."

Brea in 'Trance'
The lucky bitch also got to work with Scary Stud Zack Ward in sci-fi shocker Battle Planet. Who is hotter - him or Eric Stoltz?
"I would say Zack - just because I've actually met him in real life," says Grant. "He was really nice and super cool. I would see anything he's in."
Midnight Movie is another horror flick on Grant's belt buckle of horror movie notches (you know what I mean) and it stars Rebekah Brandes, who also appeared in a shameful low budget shocker called Evil Ever After .
"According to IMDB, you also exec produced that movie, so are you allowed to be embarrassed about it?" Questions Grant. "Rebekah is really sweet and a great actress. She deserves all the success in the world."
Like Naomi Watts in Children of the Corn 4, Eva Mendes in Children of the Corn 5, and Billy Bob Thornton in Chopper Chicks in Zombietown, Brea seems to have gotten her start in low budget horror movies.
Grant thinks this is a starting point for so many careers because “low budget horror films take chances on unknown actors. You don't necessarily need a big name so they go with talent instead of star power. Although as I write that, I think about all the crappy actors also in low budget horror films, so maybe that's not totally the case. There are also a lot more of those being made than low budget actions or low budget romantic comedies.”

Although I have to say, I was somewhat disapointed in H2, I think Brea did a fantastic job. My boyfriend & I just bought some of her costume from a icollector.com auction. Can't wait to get it!
I'm excited to see what this girl comes up with next.
So happy to read this interview! I'm so excited for Brea and loved her performance in Halloween 2. Here's hoping for top billing!
