The Ghost of Slaughterford is journalist and actress Axelle Carolyn's first horror script coming to the big screen! Sick of waiting for a perfect acting role, she took matters into her own hands and wrote her own.
"The Ghost of Slaughterford is a script that I wrote end of last year, after getting tired of waiting for the perfect part to land on my lap," she explains to us. Axelle and husband, director Neil Marshall, "were driving one day through the British countryside and came across a sign which said "Slaughterford". The name was so great that it inspired me to write. The result is somewhere between The Innocents, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, and The Wicker Man, with a hint of Hammer Films."
The very British-sounding horror movie is moving fast, "We're hoping to shoot before the summer," she explains. "Neil is executive producing and I'll be playing the lead; we're casting the other parts at the moment."
Who will be directing? We'll announce as soon as we know.
