I can't lie; I love Amber Benson. She's done me a favor or two in my day, so I can't help but post this funny video of her reading sex scenes from her new novel in front of a crowd. Much giggling ensues.

Serpent's Storm is the third novel in Amber Benson’s fantasy series about Calliope Reaper-Jones, and with some help from author Patrick Rothfuss , she manages to read the sexy parts of her novel, even in front of her friend's Dad.

Hilarious! I had a somewhat similar experience last Sunday at a book signing, when a friend who had never read my erotica took a gander at the covers of a couple of my books:

She blinked and said, "Meg!" I pointed to the cover of "Vampire Nights" and said, "That guy's a friend of mine." "A friend?" she asked, still dazed. "Yep." I nodded. "That's the type of friend to have, doncha think?"

At which point another friend approached the table and said, "Meg, really, why don't you keep those books under the table?"

"Why?" I shrugged, pointing again to the cover of "Vampire Nights." "He's wearing a jacket."

My second friend rolled her eyes, shook her head, then proceeded to buy both books.

I agree - he's wearing a jacket. He shouldn't be, though.

LOL, agreed! That guy is Michael Elan, who besides being my cover muse is a friend of mine and an animal rescuer; and lucky for all of us not a big fan of clothes!
