All Things Horror screens 'The Commune' and short horror films by women

06/02/2010

On Wednesday June 2nd, All Things Horror will present their first Women in Horror program as part of their monthly film series. The Commune, written and directed by Elizabeth Fies, will headline as the feature! Also playing are two shorts by Montrealean Maude Michaud; Snuff and Hollywood Skin. Monica Puller of Gonzorific films will premiere her latest short Gimme!, and Montreal's Izabel Grondin’s powerful and disturbing short film Fantasy completes the program...

Featuring a shocking climax that will linger with the viewer long after leaving the theater, The Commune tells the tragic story of sixteen year old Jenny (Chauntal Lewis). She’s been sent for the summer to stay on her estranged father’s hippy quasi-religious compound. Underneath the granola lifestyle, sinister and terrible events are in store for the young girl. Fans of atmospheric, psychological mind benders such as The Wicker Man and Don’t Look Now will appreciate Ms. Fies directorial debut.

The night starts at 7pm and tickets are available at the door for $5.
