Pretty/Scary Editor named in Top 13 most Influential Women in Horror History

That's pretty awesome. Pretty/Scary editor Heidi Martinuzzi (me) gets mentioned in this ChicagoNow list of the top 13 influential women in horror history along with contemporaries Jovanka Vuckovic (journalist), Denise Gossett (film festival director), Devi Snively (filmmaker), and Debbie Rochon (actress) and icons Kathryn Bigelow (director), Debra Hill (producer), Anne Rice, Ida Lupino (actress/director), Karen Walton (screenwriter), Maila Nurmi (Vampyra), Stephenie Meyer, and Mary Shelley (author of Frankenstein.)

I'd have loved to see Cassandra Peterson, Brinke Stevens, or Mary Lambert up there instead of myself and Stephenie Meyer. But let's just pretend we didn't say that!

One such soul, the Wanderer, is fused with a dying human named Melanie Stryder, in an attempt to locate the last pocket of surviving humans on Earth. Or whatever. I don't really understand the plot...

So, some unknown author named Jordan Scott claims that Stephenie Meyer plagiarized her novel that no one has ever read called The Nocturne in parts of the Twilight Series book Breaking Dawn (which I wish was called Breaking Wind because that would be funny.) Even though the people at TwilightLexicon (yes, that's a si

Stephenie Meyer gets her own comic book

To make your morning just that much more surreal and unfair, Twilight series author Stephenie Meyer is getting her own biography comic. Yes, a comic book about her, not her fiction. This is the fault of a company called Bluewater Productions, and they will release Female Force: Stephenie Meyer right before the new Twilight movie hits theaters on, November 20th, 2009.

It will most likely glamorize the life of the uber-Mormon housewife prior to her fabulous wealth and instill unrealistic expectations in young women that they, too, can get lucky and become rich off of a dumb idea. I hope there are scenes of Meyer in church every Sunday, praying the 'gay' away...
