Lucy Lawless in 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand' - A '300' for TV? By Paula Haifley
I’ve never been scolded by a famous TV actress before, let alone one with twinkling blue eyes, a devilish grin, and a reputation for on-screen butt kicking as Xena, Warrior Princess. When Lucy Lawless, one of the stars of the upcoming TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand, teasingly gave me a hard time for not speaking up much during the press conference for her show at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con, it did make me ask more questions. I guess it’s that commanding personality that serves her well in her role as a powerful, manipulative Roman wife on the show...

Lucy Lawless Returns to TV in 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand': Watch the trailer Lucy Lawless (Xena, Battlestar Galactica) returns to TV with a new series from Sam Raimi called Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Debuting January 2010, the historical fantasy series stars Lucy Lawless in the pivotal role of 'Lucretia'. In a passionate and ambitious partnership with her husband Batiatus (John Hannah), she supports his every move as he maneuvers their way back from near financial ruin. Lawless parallels their relationship with Shakespeare’s Macbeth, “They’re a team; they have a great relationship. He’s the brains and she shores up his confidence; she supports her man."
We've got the trailer, and its pretty awesome. Dark, intense, gory, sexy, and hardcore violent, the series was inspired by the actual slave of the Roman Republic who in 73 BC led a slave revolt that grew to more than 120,000 fighters...

Zoe Bell ('Deathproof', 'Kill Bill', 'Angel of Death') By Andrew Shearer
I have a difficult time remembering Zoe Bell and I are only a year apart in age. In the '90s, she performed stunts on Xena: Warrior Princess while still a teenager. She's worked with Quentin Tarantino twice, three times if you count Kill Bill as two movies. As Uma Thurman's double, Zoe was responsible for pretty much all the dangerous shit Beatrix Kiddo did in those films, including the famous staircase run-and-slash we all remember from the trailers. And regardless of whether or not you're a fan of Death Proof (I am), you can't deny having been charmed and amazed by Zoe's starring turn as herself, smiling and waving, "I'm okay!" as she pops up from behind the bushes after being thrown from the hood of a speeding muscle car.

Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor in 'Bitch Slap' Check out how cool this is: Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess, Battlestar Galactica) and Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle on Xena) both star as (what else?) nuns in the new exploitation film Bitch Slap, coming out Spring 2009.
Bitch Slap calls itself 'a post-modern, thinking man's throwback to the "B" Movie/Exploitation films of the 1950's - 70's as well as a loving, sly parody of the same'. Dragstrip Girls, Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill, Kung Fu Nun and various Blacksploitation films being the main inspiration. It's about: three bad girls (a down-and-out stripper, a drug-running killer and a corporate powerbroker) as they arrive at a remote desert hideaway to extort and steal $200 Million in diamonds from a ruthless underworld kingpin...
