Redemption to Be Found on, and in, 'London Boulevard'

There's a stylish new crime drama opening soon. It's called London Boulevard, and it's about a guy who's freshly out of prison, getting older and trying to make the right choices. When you consider that Colin Farrell plays the ex-con, it begins to feel a little like art imitating life.

Of all the movies looking for distribution at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival, Killer Joe is the one I'm probably most excited about.

Last Seen on Dolores Street (2010)

Telling a story on film can be a perplexing process. Some directors require a series of two-hour movies, and several hundred million dollars, to tell just one tale and they still make a mess of it. But some directors can get it exactly right in a few minutes for a couple of thousand bucks.

Hollywood Celebrates Claire Trevor's 100th Birthday

Hollywood is celebrating what would have been actress Claire Trevor's 100th Birthday with a double feature of the classic noir films Key Largo (for which she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress) and Murder My Sweet at the Aero Theater in Los Angeles, California on March 11th, 2010. She was nicknamed the "Queen of Film Noir" because of her many appearances in "bad girl" roles in black-and-white thrillers. She appeared in over 60 films...
