Devi Snively has led several lives over the years. She’s worked as a translator, writer, editor, ballerina, adjunct professor…you know, the usual stuff. But all that life experience is taking a backseat to her latest career choice: filmmaker. While Snively has done a little bit of everything, it’s her work in the cinematic arts that is earning awards and garnering attention for this talented woman.

Devi Snively goes dark noir with thriller 'Last Seen on Dolores Street'

Award-winning genre filmmaker Devi Snively's next film will be a neo-noir called Last Seen on Dolores Street. Snively's previous work includes Raven Gets a Life, Death in Charge, Teenage Bikini Vampire, Trippin', Meat is Murder, and Confederate Zombie Massacre.

Last Seen on Dolores Street will be "a 2-minute horror noir film that will hopefully actually be disturbing and scary as opposed to our usual whimsical lighthearted approach to horror," says Snively. "I'm both very excited and very nervous - this is a whole new territory for me."

Devi Snively's 'Meat Is Murder'

Devi Snively (director of the short horror films Confederate Zombie Massacre, Teenage Bikini Vampire, and Raven gets a Life) is coming out with a terrifying new short called Meat is Murder!

Here's the scoop on Meat is Murder: They just wrapped on principal shooting and have a decent rough cut already. They still have to do the sound mix and digital effects, and score it, but expect to have it ready for the genre festival deadlines in May!

Devi Snively is probably one of the most recognizable horror directors in that her films have a very distinct look and feel; somewhere between early silent films and rock videos, her first short Teenage Bikini Vampire combined music and costume to make a genre-specific style come alive. Now, in Confederate Zombie Massacre, the same pace, tone, and eerily fun quality pervades this clever anti-war story hidden beneath a sense of humor and an outlandish fantasy setting...
