Caitlin R. Kiernan, Sarah Waters among 'Shirley Jackson Award' Nominees

Sarah Langan, as a new advisor for the Shirley Jackson Awards, is stoked about her recent Bram Stoker Award and mentions in Ellen Datlow’s Anthology, The Best Horror of the Year, 2009 (her short stories Fenstad’s End, The Burn Victim, The Dark Materials Project, and The Agathas) and says,

"Remember how 'SNL' used to be dominated by men, and then the ladies came along? It feels like that. A total sea change."

Locus and SFSite's picks for scifi/fantasy lit of 2009 are mostly men

SFSite (the 'home page for science fiction and fantasy literature') and Locus Magazine (the website for the 'leading news and review magazine for science fiction and fantasy') have posted lists of sci-fi and fantasy literature they decided were the 'best' of 2009. Not surprisingly, SFSite mostly chose titles written by men. Locus did a little better.
